VAMU is the secretariat to the National Trade Development Committee (NTDC). The NTDC was established by means of a Council of Ministers’ decision in 2012 to lead the Trade Mainstreaming agenda for Vanuatu.
The NTDC meets three times a year. It comprises of the government bodies, the private sector, civil society and donor partners.
Besides, discussing the trade development agenda, the ongoing projects and the funding, the NTDC provides a platform for the productive sector to take a stock of the situation and present issues. The establishment of this committee promotes good governance by ensuring aid for trade fund is spent appropriately and effectively.
