VAMU day-to-day activities are based on the Development Cooperation level. VAMU has the mandate to negotiate for new Aid-for-Trade (AfT) funding for areas prioritised by the Trade Policy Framework, as well as manage and coordinate existing AfT projects on the behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, Trade, Commerce and Ni-Vanuatu Business (MTTCNVB). Updates include submission of financial, narrative and audit report. VAMU also facilitates the establishment or improvement of systems, processes and fiduciary aspects.

The current funding cover four key programmes:

• The Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) – Tier 1 and Tier 2
• The Governance for Growth (GfG)
• The Vanuatu Strategic Tourism Action Plan (VSTAP)11th European Development Fund - Vanuatu Value Chain (VaVAC)
