About us

The Ministry of Tourism, Trade, Trade, Commerce, and Ni-Vanuatu Business (MTTCNVB) launched in 2019 the new unit Vanuatu Aid-for-Trade Management Unit (VAMU) formerly known as Trade Development Division. This unit sits within the Office of the Director General and is responsible for promoting Vanuatu’s trade mainstreaming agenda. The Trade Mainstreaming Agenda sets out the operational framework of the unit and is implemented through the following three pillars:

01

Policy pillar

VAMU coordinates the drafting and monitoring of the Vanuatu Trade Policy Framework (TPF) and provides advice on trade related issues for other policy documents.
02

Institutional pillar

VAMU acts as the Secretariat to the Vanuatu National Trade Development Committee (NTDC) and coordinates the efforts to introduce robust trade governance mechanisms through the drafting of a charter illustrating the working of the trade governance.
03

Development Cooperation pillar

VAMU negotiates and manages Aid-for-Trade (AfT) projects on behalf of the MTTCNVB and supports line agencies to secure AfT

The VAMU currently has six permanent employees reporting to the Aid for Trade Manager, Mrs. Luisa Letlet.
